Semi Abstract Deconstruction
I waited my entire life to paint this painting. I remember the moment I first saw it framed; it completed the entire process for me. I have this piece in my personal collection. It was done during the same time frame I have written about when I was living in my Gallery/Studio during my first divorce. I remember finishing it and saying to Fred Smith that I had been waiting my whole life to paint this painting.
There was something about it that put me at peace, complete satisfaction with my craft, my art, and my life. Being such a huge can of the greats like Dali, Magritte, and pretty much anything postimpressionistic and surreal I had strove for about a decade to create the perfect piece that would and could match up to those I looked up to, and there is sat, right in front of me. It’s a gorgeous, sexy, sensual, and very peaceful piece despite all the movement.
The movement in this painting seems to be frozen, suspended exactly where it is supposed to be. My eyes and mind do not try and complete any movement but only seem to accept it and take it in. The title says it all. It’s the subtle deconstruction of one’s peace and serenity, and the choices we make to endanger that. It implies willfulness, self-deconstruction or the allowing of someone else to deconstruct my peace.
The Estate View of the title simply is the perspective at which I view it, or the potential owner or viewer. It is supposed to be viewed from within, and there is a certain quality of humbleness the viewer needs to possess to understand and fully take this painting in. My framer knocks it out of the park with the frame. This piece comes framed with a giant modern frame that has a dominance all its own and protects this piece from being anything but great. I have had a few offers but nobody that truly can afford it, nor understands its pricelessness.
It’s priced out reasonably considering what it will be worth in 50 years, plus free shipping?
