Semi Abstract Body Style
This is a very interesting piece of work. It has so many elements of my style from the past and oddly enough, from the future. I had this image somewhat sketched out on a sketch pad years and years ago.
The image I had sketched out is what you see to the left on the painting, the cliff or mountain-like head looking image. Those lines were sketched out somewhere and I remember wanting to use them in a painting. The day came when I wanted to use them and so I sketched it out on this canvas.
The rest of the image kind of just appeared randomly over the passing of time. The rectangular tile on four stilts shows up in lots of my work, and I'm not so sure I know what it means yet. I don't know what the stilts mean yet either, but I know that them levitating means thoughts.
Arrows or lines are also forms of thought in my work. It also has old ruins of an ancient obelisk that has been broken apart, which also appears in my work often. The sky was more of an afterthought. I remember looking at this piece thinking it needed so much more. I decided to start creating random shapes in the sky with random blues that I mixed.
It's a pretty large piece 4 ft by 5 ft and I have grown to absolutely love the painting, it's gorgeous, and if it doesn't start a conversation in the room you're in I would have to suppose you are in a room with deaf people who can't talk. There would be a bunch of pointing going on either way you look at it. It's a killer piece and becomes a $50,000 painting as soon as you put $1,000 frame on it.
