Semi Abstract Dali

A simple piece.  Obviously very Dali-esk.  Salvador Dali was a massive influence on my art at a very early age.  The painting came out in one of the three studios I have used on the ground floor of my present studio/live space.  My home has three floors, the bottom floor has produced a ton of oil paintings, this being one of them. I created a small chill painting studio in one of the only spots in the home that is completely underground.

I put a leather couch, giant 12-foot easel in there and 4 wall easels and of course a stereo.  This piece was stretched on one of the wall easels.  It’s one of about 12 oil paintings that got produced down there.  It’s one of only a few left from the year 2014.  This was during the time I had a giant gallery and studio downtown next to my coffee shop/music venue which unfortunately got named Zoe’s.  There were few things, if not just this one, that a drunk named Robin said.  He said, “its probably the worst thing you can do is name this coffee shop, bar, venue after a 16 year old girl.”  It was.
